Dear Colleagues,
Please join newly-appointed Assistant Secretary for Career, Technical, and Adult Education Scott Stump via Webinar as he shares the Department’s vision for the Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) as an opportunity to re-think our nation’s CTE programs. The Webinar will be held on September 12, 2018, from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm EST. Assistant Secretary Stump will be presenting live from the AMTECK Facility in Lexington, Kentucky as one of his stops on the Secretary’s Back-to-School Tour.

We received a number of questions during the webinar regarding the Perkins V State Plan submission timeline and the transition to Perkins V, generally. While we shared some of our preliminary ideas for transition during the webinar, the State Plan template and accompanying guidance will convey the Department’s final policies for transition, including timeline for implementation of Perkins V. The draft State Plan template will be available for review during the paperwork clearance process this Fall, which we will share when it is available. In the meantime, please submit any questions, concerns, or ideas regarding Perkins V transition to cte@ed.gov.
Best –
Sharon
