Dear Colleagues –

Just a quick note to let you know that the Department has posted the 2017 U.S. Presidential Scholar list (candidates) to its website: https://www2.ed.gov/programs/psp/2017/candidates.pdf

Invitations for candidates to formally apply for the 2017 program have been sent via mail and via email if the candidate’s email address was on file. Schools have been notified via mail.

Key upcoming dates are as follows:

• Applications from candidates must be received by February 28, 2017 at 5 p.m. CT (6pm ET/3pm PT)
• Semifinalists will be announced mid-April (most likely the week of April 17th)
• Scholars will be announced in May (most likely the week of May 8th)
• Scholars will be in Washington, DC for the National Recognition Program, June 18-20, 2017 (T)

Many thanks to all of you who were able to assist your States in the nomination process this year! We will keep you posted as the semi-finalists and scholars are announced in the coming months.
