Dear Colleagues —
I am pleased to pass along the letter that was just issued to Chief State School Officers (CSSOs) regarding the upcoming 2017 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. As you may recall, beginning in 2016, the program includes recognition of up to 20 outstanding students who demonstrate excellence in career and technical education (CTE).
Please note that each State is requested to submit nominations, including up to 5 CTE students, by November 23, 2016. We encourage you to work with your CSSO during the nomination process for the CTE students. In addition, I have attached the CTE selection criteria for your reference.
Please also stay tuned to the Perkins Collaborative Resource Network at cte.ed.gov for important updates on this program! We look forward to recognizing the next class of U.S. Presidential Scholars, including scholars in CTE!
Best —
